Here’s what you need to support Guest OS unmap with Windows and VMWare:
- At least Server 2012 with hotfix KB2878635
- newer version support natively
- on older versions use sdelete from Mark Russinovich
- At least hardware compatibility version 11
- VMFS 6 volume
- VMFS 5.5 can support it with more hoops
